Lovely local cozy bookstore, full of both new stuff and old favorites, often nicely discounted. Bathroom was quite clean too.

We had a couple of hours free in the greater Albany area, so we searched for used bookstores near us. This place popped up and had a good review rating. The former owner who still works several shifts/ week was at the counter when we visited. A charming man... He told me that the books are either really gently used at deep discount or publisher overstock (read: new) at 50% off. I found several superb Eric Carle books and a few fiction books that I hadn't yet read. I loved the place and would visit every couple of weeks if I lived nearer. We were given rewards bucks that were valid for a year. Since we didn't know that we'd be back that soon, we gave the $16 free dollars to people in the neighborhood who genuinely seemed delighted to receive them with no catch.

I found a lot of fantastic books at Dove & Hudson and they were all at phenomenal prices as well! The gentleman at the counter (Gary I believe) helped me search the treasure troves of books because I am a new customer and didn't know the store layout. I was recommended to the store by students from University Of Albany and my professor as well, within the first 3 weeks of my first semester this Spring. They even gave me three purple bucks to get started! All in all I am vastly satisfied with Dove and Hudson and will surely shop there again. Word of mouth truly helps us find the places worth speaking of.

Looks like a great bookstore, but I could not find a parking place with my limited mobility range, which is about a block. If I could manage 2-3 blocks I could have made it.

Dove & Hudson has fantastic selections. Clean, fresh energy exudes. Has outdoor seating and delicious indoor discoveries. Joseph, the Owner, is as lovely as you could want and an eye for the details. A community treasure!!

Cute little bookstore near lark street. They have a great selection and usually some free books outside. It's a lovely spot, conveniently near many restaurants and shoppes. Just keep in mind with alternate parking it can be hard to find a good spot. It's definitely worth taking a look. I look forward to perusing their selection in depth soon!

Cute, vintage bookstore in Albany which contains a wide selection of books. It has a classic library aesthetic and books at reasonable prices. It is my wife’s favourite in the area. They give you “purple dollars” for each purchase. Good place to check out.
